F.H.E. (2/30)

Tonight we had Family Home Evening (aka - fhe, or Isabel likes to call it Family Old Evening). If you have never heard of this before it is basically when we spend time together as a family learning and talking about something usually having to do with something churchy. Tonight we talked about the prophet Jonah. We had to make sure to let Isabel know that the prophet Jonah and her friend Jonah are two very different people. So we told the story as if we were inside the whale (a fort made under the table) with flashlights and pictures. Then we made bubble art.

And Isabel loved it not because she got to take her shirt off. Or because she got to blow bubbles with her straw. Oh no. She loved it because she got to drink some super-soapy-paint-filled-with-food-coloring-and-tempera-paint-water. Oh well, she learned it was nasty real fast.
Sidenote: When she first did this I kind of had a flash to that scene in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where they have to burp in order to stop from floating so they don't get their heads chopped off by the fan. Man, I loved that part when I was a kid.

Oh what fun! Isabel seems giddy around those bubbles. Did the thought of being swallowed by a fish creep her out at all?
